Students are finishing their ABSTRACT paintings, mixing more colors using the Primary colors to make Secondary colors, and adding white to create tints. We looked at some of Paul Klee's abstract line paintings and talked about how we can all interpret abstract art differently. After talking about Klee's work, we went on a "Gallery Walk" and looked at each others' paintings around the room, thinking about what the lines, shapes and colors remind us of.
Here are some of the things that Mrs. Tristan's and Ms. Lopez's classes saw in their abstract paintings.
We were then inspired to create drawings in crayon and colored pencil using the various things we imagined in our abstract paintings.
