First Days in 1st and 2nd Grade!

Welcome back to school! This year promises to bring a lot of new, exciting units in Art, more messes and lots of fun! 1st and 2nd Graders began the year with a silly drawing game that asked kids to stretch their imaginations and show me what they can do. We took turns picking a noun (person, place or thing) and an adjective (a describing word) from a bucket, and the entire class had to draw whatever image the combination of the two words conjured in their minds. We had some pretty funny outcomes, like a freezing teacher, a mean apple, a pretty ice cream cone, a cloudy shoe, and many more! Everyone took home their drawings, so please ask your kids about what they drew and what silly combinations were their favorites!
